Iowa’s Premier Conference for Addiction and Behavioral Health Professionals Returns September 17–18
Des Moines, Iowa — The Iowa Board of Certification (IBC) is pleased to announce that registration is now open for the 2026 CARE Conference, taking place September 17–18, 2026, at the Sheraton West Des Moines Hotel.
Recognized as Iowa’s premier conference for addiction and behavioral health professionals, the CARE Conference brings together counselors, prevention professionals, peer recovery specialists, treatment providers, supervisors, administrators, and other professionals from across the state for two days of education, collaboration, and professional growth.
This year’s conference will feature nationally recognized speakers, practical breakout sessions, networking opportunities, and the latest information impacting the behavioral health workforce.
Participants may earn up to 15 continuing education hours, including 3 hours in ethics, while exploring topics designed to strengthen professional practice and improve outcomes for the individuals and communities they serve.
“The CARE Conference is more than just continuing education—it’s an opportunity for professionals from across Iowa to come together, share ideas, build relationships, and return to their work with renewed knowledge and inspiration,” said Katie Hentges, Executive Director of the Iowa Board of Certification.

Early registration rates are available through August 27, 2026:
- Two-Day Conference: $230
- One-Day Conference: $125
Beginning August 28, registration increases to:
- Two-Day Conference: $250
- One-Day Conference: $150
