The Iowa Board of Certification (IBC) credentials prevention and treatment professionals in addictions and other behavioral health fields by promoting adherence to competency and ethical standards.

IBC certifies and recertifies professionals for the following credentials. Each linked page contains the applications, requirements, fees, study guide, and sample test, if available, of the corresponding credentials.

Transcript reviews are conducted only on official transcripts sent directly from the issuing institution. Official transcripts need to be sent to IBC to IowaBC@gmail.com or to our Grand Ave address.

⏱️ Current processing time is approximately 20–30 business days.

Transcript reviews are processed in the order they are received and as staff availability allows. Priority is given to completed applications and recertifications to ensure timely processing of credentialing services.
