POSITION TITLE: Prevention Specialist
Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Prevention Specialist to join our team and make a meaningful impact in community health and well-being. In this role, you will develop and implement prevention programs aimed at reducing health disparities, promoting healthy lifestyles, and supporting individuals with diverse needs. Your expertise will help empower individuals to make informed choices, improve their overall quality of life, and foster healthier communities through education, outreach, and personalized support.
Responsibilities
- Conduct outreach and educational sessions on topics such as nutrition, addiction prevention, and public health initiatives to diverse populations.
- Utilize motivational interviewing techniques to engage individuals in behavior change conversations and support their health goals.
- Collect and analyze data related to program participation, health outcomes, and community needs to inform ongoing improvements.
- Collaborate with healthcare providers, social workers, educators, and community organizations to coordinate prevention efforts.
- Provide direct support to individuals with disabilities or chronic health conditions by offering tailored guidance on wellness strategies.
- Facilitate public speaking engagements and community events to raise awareness about prevention programs and available resources.
- Maintain accurate records of client interactions, program activities, and data collection efforts in compliance with privacy standards.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in nursing, social work, public health, or related fields with a passion for prevention work.
- Strong background working with individuals with disabilities or chronic health conditions.
- Knowledge of medical terminology, Medicare policies, and addiction counseling principles.
- Excellent communication skills for teaching, public speaking, and motivational interviewing.
- Ability to collect, organize, and analyze data effectively to evaluate program success.
- Familiarity with nutrition principles and public health strategies is a plus.

Pay: Up to $50,000.00 per year
